It has great teachers and staff who most of them are passionate, but the competition among students is hardcore, and it’s very easy to fall behind. Everyone at Churchill wants to succeed, go to the best colleges and be the best on their field of choice. The room for error is minuscule. Since the need for success is so prominent among students and staff, social structures and behavior among student and teachers are ignored. Just last year there was an incident regarding the n word and having a pass spread around the school, this year multiple teachers were fired, reasons varying from inappropriate touching to drinking. Before hand however, these teachers were given multiple chances before their termination, because their teaching and high test scores were more important to enhance the school reputation. It didn’t matter that they were inappropriate with students, as long as they could ensure that kids would get a 5 and an A in an AP class, they could essentially do whatever they wanted. Being a student will provide you with some of the best teachers and best education out there, but this school hides behind its high test scores. Be wary of the true cutthroat culture among students and staff.

I know why housing here in Potomac is expensive. My eldest one goes to WCHS. And she loves the school, teachers and friends.

WCHS was an experience that I will forever look back on as a life changing. The vast curriculum, student athletics and friendships I established continue to impact my life is a positive way in my 30's. I feel very fortunate to have graduated from here and would not have changed a thing.
