My child is a kindergartner at MH. The experience has been outstanding with teachers and staff that have helped my kid to excel at reading and math ahead of the state/district standards. I have loved that she is part of a neighborhood school that is diverse and more reflective of Rockville as a whole. Don't follow just the test scores. Visit, talk with staff, teachers, and parents before deciding.

My kids are very happy here. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Overall it's a wonderful school for my children.

Meadow Hall is a school with a large number of ESOL children and sadly that often brings down ratings. Both my children were at the school from 2008 through 2016. We loved the diversity, their class sizes were small (18-26 per class with a teacher and a teaching student intern), and they received individualized attention. Teachers love the school and it shows. Please do not be scared by ratings... Talk to parents, teachers, and administrators before you decide!

I wonder what the this website factors in when rating each school. I almost didn't send my daughter to MH based on their low rating and I'm glad we decided to take a chance. Last year (kindergarten) my daughter had a fantastic very invovled teacher, that put all my worries to rest. I actually brought up to her in one meeting the rating of the school on this website. She didn't speak to the rating as she didn't know what they took into consideration, but spoke about the school. She said MH is one of the better schools she has worked at, she said take a look at the tenure of not only the teachers but the staff. She said the admin and teachers get a long great where other schools thats not the case. I was concerned about the number of ESOL students and how that would impact my daughter's education. THey have teachers that come in and assist those students. I was impressed by how fast the ESOL students learned to read, some even at a faster and higher rate then my daughter. I volunteered in her class once every 2 weeks. Class size is small. The school gets a lot of money due to the special needs program and there is free breakfast which is great, so I wonder if that may figure into their rating. Doesn't make sense, but neither does the low rating of this school. First grade is going pretty well this year and I'm going to be sending my 2 other kids here. My daughter continues to score above average in math and reading and I have MH to thank for that. I know that all the real estate website use this site for school ratings. Please take the time to do your reseach on potential schools and don't rely on this site, as the ratings are skewed.
