Overall, I’d say the school itself is fine, moreso, it is the people there that are the problems. I personally have no problems with LGBTQ+, the disabled, political views, etc, nor do I judge people on them, but the people in this school are setting an example for children making them think that it is okay to do certain things. It is also uncomfortable to be around multiple children who have no sense of respect around adults and their peers and the staff that supposedly “expects the best” from us students do nothing to help these students develop as both people and students. A large majority of students at this school have mental/physical issues (Depression, Anxiety, Bulimia, etc.) including myself and only around three or four staff I’ve seen have tried to help them. Most of the teachers there are usually ineffective with their teaching and styles of teaching (only a few are actually GOOD). Thank you for your time.

The school is ok. It was not as good as my old school. Some of the teachers are too nice and some are way too mean. I could name a few but I don't expose.

Through the past three principals, the school has really changed. Some of the teachers have been there for a very long time, but teacher turn over is very high. School fights have gone down only because the demographics of the school has been systematically changed. The principal says that she expects the best but she also says that when she gives an order she expects to be followed. Some of the best teachers at the school have stopped sponsoring programs -- the world studies teacher used to do an extra outdoor education backpacking trip with students during spring break and the algebra teacher no long sponsors any of the math competitions. Other schools have opportunities for student travel. Middle schools in Bethesda work with a travel company to provide trips where students can earn high school credit in math, science, and history. Eastern Middle School has a humanities magnet program that takes their students to New York City. Most student travel programs are not school-sponsored but the principal controls what information is made available to students. Only the World Language program travels. The Spanish teacher travels with 10-20 students every year. But, the travel company doesn't have any travel programs in science or math. The school has an excellent music program - choir, orchestra and band. The chorus director has directed the musical for the last ten years. Most of the teachers seem to really care about their students even though they can be strict.

It okay the only thing I am mad with is that a few teachers don't know what they are doing once a teacher said I did not turn in a grade and I got a c and my papers come back and the assignment that she said was missing was graded then she loses other people's papers this is not a school I recommend for your child most likely your son or daughter will get most likely bullied and see violence and cursing if you don't mind your turning ghetto and act like a person they aren't I don't recomend this school to you.
