I Have 1 Daughter who Graduated from Kent Island High School all ready and 1 that is in 10th grade there. They have Great Teachers with a Great study and Learning Program!

Kent Island High School is an extraordinary school. With their great academic achievements and outstanding sports department, KIHS would be a great candidate for this opportunity. Although due to cut back, some classes, that could benefit many students, have been canceled because of budget complications. I believe that with this money, KIHS could use it to provide an even greater education to offer to the students.

Putting all personal opinions aside, the majority of the teachers here are incompetent, teaching incorrect material and other things. Other than that, pretty decent public school.

The Student that posted that 1 star review must be bitter about the annex system. I graduated in 2007 (before the annex), after transfering there from broadneck senior high in 2005 . Can I say BIG difference! They actually care here! Yea, not everybody cared, my old counselor took a diiferent job and they let some god-awful guidance counselor in . She was not uplifiting, kind or engaging. But despite her negative energy towards me (& a lot of other students of color) she could not bring me down. loved my teachers there, & the prinicipal. I was involved in keeping scores for the basketball teams (even though there is not one athletic bone in my body). I was in drama club and S.A.D.D. I loved it here. It was a complete 180 from the feel and culture of my old high school. Plus the school lunch was a total upgrade from the food served in anne arundel county. I came to that school with a crapper of a GPA (because of personal issues). But with encourgament, challenges and hospitality I became the student I once was. I think its a wonderful school, even my family saw the huge diference in me once I transfered there. I want my kids to go to KIHS, It was a wonderful experience for me.
