The nice thing about this school is that there are some choices in classes and there are a few teachers and staff members who really are great. I really don't like to say such negative things, and I don't like putting my frustration on display, but my experience at this school was extremely disappointing. This school has to change its ways. It also did not help me prepare me for college because a lot of the information about school visits and important events was distributed during seminar, but my seminar teacher almost never passed these things on to me or the one other senior in our group. So much of the experience in this high school is based on teacher and staff biases, which always leans toward the more privileged and "popular" students. I really hope the school board sees this and makes appropriate changes so that others will not leave this school hating the last four years of their lives.

Two. Needs improvement. A lot of teachers will not respond to emails or return phone calls. They don't deal with problems. They are constantly stating, "the board has control over that" or "I don't know, you will have to speak with someone else about that." They need to stop giving homework and projects over breaks. The kids get no down time. Very stressful. Do you see the teachers working over breaks?

I've been bullied quite a bit for how I look, what I wear, what I like, what type of phone I have, how much money I have, and what sports I play.

I am currently a Sophomore at Fraser high school, and frankly, this school system and the way the faculty deals with problems is completely wrong. Our new system is the "competency system" which means that throughout the year you have competency tests that make you fail the class if you fail one tes, even if you have a 100% in the class. Although you're given many chances to retake them, the stress this can put on its students is enormous and i have met and am friends with several students who have legitimate problems with depression and anxiety because of the system. Alot of the counsellors and staff do nothing to help you, and for students who just naturally aren't good at test taking, good luck. I have several friends who are just not good at taking tests, and theres nothing they can do about it, and in a system thats completely based around test taking it pretty much sets them up for failure. In short, the Fraser staff and system are completely unprofessional and set many students up for failure.
