Highland Elementary School

This is an example of a great school that isn't getting credit for a lot of important things. My kids have always been in small classes. Currently, I have a 5th grader in a class with 19 students. That is priceless in today's environment. There is support from every department in this school. Everyone from the custodians to the office staff, including teachers, para educators and the principal is involved in the student's success. They are leading the area with the Kegan Principles which is an effective teaching tool. I do not agree with this rating at all.

It's a diamond in the rough! Great test scores, great students, great teachers, the school takes advantage of being a title one with extra help for the at risk kids, while maintaining high acedemics standards across the the board. Keep striving for your personal best!! (Not sure why the schools only rated a 7 should be higher!)
