This school was the best for my child. Easy transition, no issues, great teachers and principal that cares.

Oakland has been wonderful for both of my children. The teachers are great and my kids are growing so much into the kind, compassionate little people I knew they could be. Great school.

My daughter has been in enrolled in this school since Kindergarten. I've watched grow and change for the better. They've painted, replaced the carpets and we now have one of the best principles. He is updated our school, sends text messages and news letters to keep us informed. The PTA has grown and is working hard to improve our school as well. I couldn't say enough about the staff. Though it has been bumpy there are star teacher's who shine and go that extra mile for their students. My daughters first grade teacher may come with a reputation as being tough but that teacher made her students strive for the best. She went above and beyond. My daughter is now in 3rd grade and again has an outstanding teacher who gives 110%. I've only heard great thing's up the fourth and fifth grade staff. As for the bullying, as posted by previous parent it has seemed to go down a lot. Being a teacher myself, there will always be a few who bully, It's not right but it has been that way since we we're kid's. The education these kid's receive in any of the Royal Oak Schools is great. I will be sad to leave this school. I feel as if my child and I have grown with it.

I transferred from a absolutely horrible school located in my home city. I needed something new; environment, culture and curriculum. I am so excited that I applied for my children to attend Royal Public Schools. Oakland Elem is just the right pace given everything we've been through at the previous school. I cant really speak a lot on the third grade teacher that my son has because we only communicate electronically, but I absolutely adore the first grade teacher my other son has as well as the support teams. My children have come a long way. The teachers are strict and are about teaching and watching their students bloom. This is great. The only bad thing is thr after school program is too expensive. I am going to hang in there until my Children graduate. I would highly recommend this school.
