Richard C. Hedke Elem. School

I have a first grader at Hedke. She was also in kindergarten there, and will be in Trenton schools for her entire school career. The teachers are amazing, Ms Pilgrim is as sweet and caring as can be. Mrs Anderson is fun and keeps her attention well. They have great programs available for the kids, such as game club, cheer club led by the High School cheer team, running club, robotics and many more. The latchkey program has amazing teachers too. Ms Cusin is great with all ages and a very kind person. I am so pleased to have my children in the Trenton school district!

I love Hedke.. My oldest child had went there from 1st grade to 5th grade with the exception of moving while.he was in 3rd, the school my children attend that year, they were bullied.. We moved back to Trenton, my children wre very excited going back to Hedke.. My 2 daughters have been at Hedke from k-5 With the exception of my youngest being in 4th this year.. My children love everyone on the staff.. We always have had positive experiences with alll of the staff.. Mr.Porecca and all of the teachers have always helped resolve any issue we've brought up to them.. I highly respect the Mr.Porecca, all the teachers, and all the staff at hedke.. Thank You Hedke Staff for everything you have ever done for my family...

I would also have to say that this school is good academically. However, we have had more negative occurrences with the staff rather than positive. Proper policies and procedures to any situation are non existent. I would also agree that their is not enough adult supervision and kids become subject to being bullied. I was shocked considering they are suppose to have a zero tolerance for bullying. After making it known to my child's teacher and principal that my child was being bullied, no action was taken. Very disappointing.

Hedke is a pretty awesome school.I have a third grader and a kindergartner going there.The kindergarten teacher Mrs Pilgrim is the BEST! Mr Porecca is very helpful and genuinely cares about the kids.My daughter was having some issues in kindergarten and they let her call home to calm her which I thought was really nice.I also however did have some issues with bullying by a specific student but after a while was semi resolved.I guess there's only so much the staff can do though.It takes help from home too.So overall a wonderful school.
