Being part of the Woodland community has been great for our child, academically, socially, and emotionally. The teachers have worked hard to meet the needs of ALL students and we've been glad we made the switch.

We love the School, the teachers and the staff. My kids like the special programs and afterschool activities.

As a parent, I am absolutely thrilled with Woodland. We are a school-of-choice family and were previously enrolled in a neighboring district (same city) with many of the most highly ranked elementary schools in the state. However, I can attest that Woodland is probably superior to any elementary school in the city. Test scores only give a limited picture of what a school is like. In my experience, when a school focuses solely on test scores and the accompanying bragging rights, it loses focus on the truly important things like character-building and good citizenship. Woodland has high academic standards AND the most rigorous, thorough emphasis on citizenship and character I have ever seen in an elementary school. (My family has moved quite a bit, and collectively my children have attended five elementary schools, so I have a basis for comparison.) The principal embodies the Wildcat "ROARS" program - Respect, Organization, Attentiveness, Responsibility, Safety - and has also had her staff trained with a non-profit called the Positivity Project to promote empathy, leadership, integrity, etc. among both the staff and the students. Moreover, the building itself is beautiful. My son's previous school was run down and dreary. By contrast, the beautiful Woodland campus makes you feel like you are in an exclusive, "elite" elementary school. The kids take pride in their school and keep it clean and tidy, too. The PTO hosts many social activities for the children and their families. Overall, switching to Woodland was the best academic choice we ever made for our child.

It was unpleaseant and unprofessional. I would not recommend this school.
