This school was great my freshman and sophomore year, I'm a senior in college now for time comparison. It went downhill quickly my junior and senior year. Scores went from state averages on tests to the 30s and 40s in classes such as algebra. Many of the good teachers in the science department left, only one of the new ones seemed motivated and he taught physics (had majored in biology). Bad administration, looks like by the test scores not much has changed there. The school's administration is not completely to blame, however, I had many classmates who were... already behind before coming to the highschool and behind in "home taught" skills such as hardwork and seriousness about schoolwork. They spend way too much money on the football and basketball teams, classroom hardware and other sports lack in funding. I would avoid if possible... the honor classes are generally small and better. The non-honor classes are usually quite full and you get students who don't want to be there at all. This causes annoyances and wasted time for the professor. No-one loves high school classes really, but if you have no motivation some need to stay out.

I taught there a few years. It was a horrible experience. Fights regularly broke out in the halls. Drugs were a problem along with an astounding teen pregnancy rate. The academic standards were incredibly low but the football scores were high.

I taught at this school and had a good experience with the students but a bad one with the administration. The principals will change the grades of students who are failing an academic course in order to "wash" dropout statistics. Students who do little or nothing in a class are often promoted regardless of the grade they've received. Teachers at the school are demoralized by the administration and many are looking to leave when a better opportunity presents itself. I'd not recommend this school to any parent concerned with academic integrity.

This school has a great parent involvement in athletics. I wish it would catch on with parents involved in PTO and academic areas. The teacher here really do care!!
