Terrible. I wouldnt send my dog here.. its not fit as is to teach anyone anything.. unless you want your child to teach to bully and shun others who are different from you.

They failed my nephew. The school called DSS on my sister and attempted to have her child taken away. Her child has learning disabilities and because he would act out they suspended him several times. Than they forced my sister to enroll him in a school for children with severe behavioral issues. They treated an 8 year child as if he was a monster. What kind of facility bullies a child that they are entrusted to teach? Absolutely failed my sister. Because my sisters wouldn’t listen to their every command they called the Department of Healthcare and Family Services on her in a bid for her to lose custody of her child. In a way they did my sister a favor. Who would want their children around a faculty that attempts to rip families apart?

I don't think the statistics for Bessemer City Schools are accurate. It says 99% of students in the Primary School (PK-2) and Central School (3-5) are from low income families. The only reason families would be required to provide income information, is if they apply for free lunch. This school has a grant to give any student free lunch, so maybe that is why it says 99% of the families are low income.I also don't believe the Race/Ethnicity section is correct, but that is just a personal observation from visiting a few classrooms, I haven't counted the entire school. The teachers are dedicated. The principal was different both years that I have had a child here. They do offer an Academically Gifted Program for children that have been identified through testing. They also offer Individual Education Plans for students that need extra help.
