It’s been a great experience because every member of the staff has been so intent on meeting the needs of our children.

Eight years ago it was a great school. It is not a great school now.

Estes Hills Elem.school, there is soo much that makes it a great. Estes truly is a school family. They embody all the values that are important for a child to have in order to have a positively productive life. Estes is diverse and culturally minded. They truly live up to their beautiful motto, "At Estes Hills we help our eagles soar, so that one day they may take flight." My kids and I are very proud to be a part of the Estes Family. We love this school and all that it has to offer. Thank you all at Estes that strive to keep this a great school family. Thank you for loving and supporting our kids, and our families.Proud Eagle Mom-Mrs. Jackson-Diallo.Go Eagles!

As far as the test scores are concerned, it is because NC changed the state test as well as the curriculum. They are using "Common Core" along with most of the rest of nation. The test is supposed to align with Common Core. It is a very challenging assessment. You will see that every school's test scores at the elementary and middle school level dropped with the implementation of the new test. The principal is NOT the same principal. That principal who was at Estes is now at Northside Elementary. The principal that is now at Estes is AMAZING. He is a very good leader who loves kids. My child who attends Estes went to a very highly rated school before moving to Chapel Hill. He thinks Estes is even better than that school and he looks forward to going to school every day. Estes is an old school, but with an awesome playground, a warm inviting feeling, and the teachers are A++.
