Well first I would like to apologize for my grammatical errors. Okay I agree with some of the parents here we have been attending this school for 3 years now and I am displeased at the staff our first teacher I believe had an issue with black children so they switch teachers on us! That was a good thing for him however now we were told he has behavior issues and met with the not so good only there to get a pay check guidance counselor she does nothing there but take up space! This woman is unprofessional along with the principal Riska! Back to the guidance counselor with no resources you work in a cms school around children daily why are people of such meaning educated working around our children and do not care, she told us to GOOGLE programs that our child may benefit from, since he has behavior issues in class. I don't know but I would have thought the school should have all the resources a parent needs to make that child successful. I can count on one hand the good leaders ive encountered here at the school and this is sad! Since this is our home school next year our child will be in private school. We will not go through this any longer at HMMS thank you!

The teachers are great but to say the principal is a piece of work is an understatement. Patricia Riska is uncouth and very unprofessional. She thinks only of herself and very irrational. I picked up my son 45 minutes late from school. I take total responsibility and blame for that but it was her attitude that got me. I had forgotten my phone at home so she could not reach me. As soon as I get into the school and start to apologize and explain, she steps up to me and starts to talk down at me in very unprofessional manner cutting me off. She had even called my husband and threatened to call DSS for Child abandonment (all for 45mins lateness). I pointed out to her that she should know better that if throughout the school year not once did I come late to get him something had to have happened but that's where I say she thinks only of herself and is irrational. The 45 minutes inconvenience was enough for her to try to put my son through the DSS system that we all know just ruins children. Teachers turnover under her has been high because they all can't stand her. This all happened a day before the last day of school and my son is not coming back to this school, otherwise, I would have followed up high up the ladder about how irrational she is. When the school made mistakes with transportation arrangements and I had to go pick him up at school almost 6pm, I did not make a big deal out of it because I know that is not the norm and things happen. Everyone deserves at minimum, to be respectfully treated.

This is my daughters 3rd year @HMM - now on 1st grade. She is happy, and learning so much. I love the diversity of this school - so far the communication overall with her teachers from specials to grade teacher have been A+. The size of the school is just the perfect size to make you feel like you are part of the family! The only things I would complaint is about The school principal (Ms. Patricia) is a piece of work & the school counselor (Shawna?) doesn't know what she is doing, instead asks you what to do... Other than that can't complaint about anyone else. Academically speaking my daughter is where she is suppose to be.

A great beginning for those who start there in Pre-K. The principal is very "sheltered" and shy. She does very little communication with the parents, and that needs to improve. But overall a great school for my daughter.
