Our child is in her 1st year of school. Her Kindergarten teachers are awesome and so far my wife and I have had had a great experience with the school, staff and how she/we have been treated so far.

My kids, wife, and I have all absolutely LOVED WHES!!! As a family, we have all been involved with the teachers and the success of our kids! In all honesty we have only had one issue that we had to take to the administration. This issue was related to a third party and completely unrelated to any teacher. The issue was promptly addressed and handled professionally. We LOVE this school and staff! Even to the point we are outgrowing our home and really struggling with the thought of moving out of this district.

My daughter attended WHES for 3 years with no issues. I realized her success was because of her exceptional academic level and willingness to learn rather than from the school itself. My son started kindergarten and it has been a nightmare. Rather than helping him transition and easing his anxiety, they (teacher and administrative staff) would rather rid of him. This school hands out punishments equivalent to high school punishments. My son, 5 yrs old, was suspended...twice...for doing normal 5 yr old things (learning to keep our hands to ourselves, needing to be a good listener, etc). After his second suspension for not keeping his hands to himself, I was promptly called the next morning, put on speaker phone, and told my son had less than 2 weeks before he was no longer welcome at the school. There were no conferences. No reaching out to implement a plan to help him (despite my please via email and phone calls). This school will suspend and kick out a 5 yr old (again, a 5 yr old who does NOT have behavioral issues) without blinking an eye. Potential magnet students beware...

My son attended kindergarten and first grade until January of this year. Then moved to Pitt School Road Elementary in February. His first two weeks there his teacher had informed us that my son was way behind there curriculum. She immediately wanted to hold him back from second grade. He had spent his summer and before with a tutor and summer school to successfully succeed to pass to second grade. Wedddington Hills never sent bad progress reports or inform us that my son was behind. My son informed me that the teacher spent alot of time with the majority Hispanic class teaching them English language that they didn't understand. I feel that they let me ,my son and my family name down by not giving and providing the proper education to him. My son is very smart and he proved himself by catching up and passing the first grade thru tutoring and hard work and dedication. I'm very proud of him and very disappointed in Wedddington Hills faculty for allowing this to happen.
