Happy Valley is great, but needs to hire more teachers! Way to many kids in one room. We moved here in June and I went by what was on the web site which was 11 children per class. I thought that's is great because more one on one with the kids, My child's class had 34 kids in it. 2 moved now 32. Way to many!!! The sole reason I picked Lenoir to live was because of the school but now I think that my child isn't getting what he needs to learn more. He needs extra time with the teacher. Please upgrade this school and hire more teachers. I know NC has the money to build a new school! Happy Valley is way to old. In WV they tore down the old schools which were there since 1932 and now have state of the art schools. My son went to SouthSide K-8 which is in McDowell CO. if he needed help they gave to him. I think we can get a new school. All the new schools does not have to go to the big cities here. We need one here!! You know Happy Valley is the oldest school. Our kids deserve a new school please. Thank you for your time.

I AGREE 100% WITH THIS STATEMENT! THIS REVIEWER HAD IT RIGHT ON!!! MY Child has had HORRIBLE Care at this School! My Child was also treated UNFAIRLY only 2 Weeks into Kindergarten!!! SHAME ON THIS HORRIBLE SCHOOL!!! This school is very unsafe as it is an old school very very old. THey do mot make the clidren stay seated when in the car rider area. Teachers are not equipped to handle ADHD children and their needs and are quick to punish and label children as bad eggs. Staff members back each other all the way even when they are obviously in the wrong. Do not have a very good reputation as a school that works closely with the parents to make decisions that are best for the child.

I am a current student at HVS. It is a good school. Sometimes students can be mean, but aren't most kids. Teachers work very hard to make sure students get a good education. Am in the upper division and love participating in all the school sports. Overall, good school and great 7th grade teachers.
