In general I believe the teachers are kind and seem to care for the kids. There may be a few that are cold and are working only for the paycheck. The front office has rude women that don't even acknowledge that you are there. They cut you off, hardly smile, and brush any concerns you have under the rug. The principle is okay. She is not as nice or warm as the last one. I think they all could be a little more inviting to the parents and at least pretend they care. I would like to see the office workers be kinder and acknowledge you are there when you come in to eat lunch with your child or sign them in or out for the day.

I am personally not impressed with a lot of the school's staff. I literally had a door slammed in my face and the teach turned around and looked at me as she did it. I just went in at smiled in her face. These women seem to be jealous and petty and very immature. My son does like his teach and Im happy for that.

I LOVE this school. This one of the very few schools in Gaston County that you never hear any complaints about. My daughter is now going to this school. And we LOVE it. The staff is AWESOME. From the principal, to the teachers, to the secretaries, to the janitorial/maintenance staff. ALL WONDERFUL! My daughter is in Kindergarten, and not only is she above grade level in all subject matters, she also is currently on a 2nd grade reading level!! She does NOT have a ton of homework. She has enough to do appropriate with her grade level. Usually one or two tasks or one worksheet, which only takes about 10 minutes, tops, to complete. And one SMALL book to read, which never takes her more than five minutes to read. A lot of times she will do the whole week's worth of homework in one night (her choice). And even that never takes more than 30 minutes. And I have NEVER gotten a letter requesting money unless it is for a field trip (not much money), and they only had three trips this year. Yes, they have a lot of fundraisers. But all of them are optional, you do not have to participate if you don't wish to do so.

I have three kids that started at springfield this year. All of them were doing well in school untill this year. Every night the kids have tons of homework. It really seems like the kids aren't learning anything at school. Everyday i get a new letter requesting money for this and money for that. It seems they are more interested in that than teaching our kids. Have no idea where the money goes.
