TJ Middle school teachers are excellent. That is why it is so hard to believe the environment is so hostile towards some minority students. When our child's multiple incidents were reported to the vice principal, there were condescending responses but no remediation. The administrator was no better than the bullies! The principal never got involved until the County Sprtndt came into the pic, then she went low and attempted to discredit my child and family. A new low, to victimize the victim. We did not hesitate to remove our child from that environment and today we are pleased with his new school system which is tolerant, inclusive and warm besides rich academically.
Excellent middle school which is preparing our son for high school. Challenging subjects and a good environment to flourish. The teachers are great and try and get the best out of their kids in the classroom.
This school is poorly run and ill equipped and does not provide good education. Administration is unprofessional and most teachers either don't care or are marginalized. Administrative policies are arbitrary and make little sense, ruining educational experience and discouraging most students. Self-motivated students in advanced classes will fare better and survive while others will not have a good experience. Unfortunately most parents will assume that Fair Lawn HS is more of the same which is not true: high school is a better run school.
My daughter is going to this school, and she comes home telling me about all these harsh rumors and drama. There is much bullying going on there. They have absolutely no clue how to deal with situations like that, despite the anti-bullying law. Theres so much cyberbullying involved. Also, the teachers don't care nor teach anything. They only prepare for standardnized test, while their job is supposed to be preparing them for High School, And its so overcrowded.
