I spent the last four years at Biotech, it was a mistake to attend. The administration is extremely restricting, and incompetent, the principal is not respected nor is he good at his job. I was taking an IB Chemistry course taught by a teacher with a general science degree who willingly admitted she had no clue about chemistry, which was reflected in the below average grades on the IB tests. I will however thank this school for teaching me to be independent because their absolute lack of communication between the students and faculty forced me to advocate and fend for myself. There are no arts or music courses offered, there are also no gym/physical education or health courses after sophomore year. They pathetically fulfill their art requirements by having us do projects in our other classes. While the administration allows for new clubs or interest groups, they severely limit them, enough that clubs often don't last past the end of the school year. Almost all classes after sophomore year are IB classes. Which is a restricting and limited program that does not allow for much room . Overall, this school has gone downhill to say the least since the previous principal left. The administration does not care about its students, but instead about its matriculation rates and test grades in the hopes of luring more unsuspecting families into what used to be a great school for kids who love science. BTHS is the shell of what it used to be with an under qualified staff and a pitiful excuse for a principal.

very effective. Outstanding. Little rigorous. Students support each other so well

if your kid like to be a bio major, look no where else. very sophiticated school. Academically demanding, as most of the kids are toppers in their middle school. 52 middle schools in the county and the BTHS takes only 72 kids. that said its an outstanding school with exemplary teaching & teacher credentials

My daughter is in her sophomore year at Biotech. The school is outstanding but yes rigorous , With the small class size and excellent faculty she is getting an amazing education. We have found the sports not to be an issue. She plays tennis at our local high school and gets dropped off there after school. I have had to pick her up myself on occasion to be sure she could get to an away game on time but it is worth the trouble to have her at this school. The clubs at Biotech also provide nice leadership opportunities. There is everything from academic clubs to music clubs. I was quite impressed by the talent of these kids at their recent music performance - coffee house style.
