Just moved to the area and this is a faboulous school. Love everything!
The Principal is overreaching her authorities. She tells Parents less than 24 hours before the Pre-School graduation that they can't pull their older kids out of classes to attend the Pre-K graduation but allow younger kids who are not going to school to attend. Such rule is discriminatory. And this is a violation of our basic right. The Principal is not a leader, but a Bully who believes that she could dictate and enforce her own rules on a fly without any considerations and/or connections with the families. Even the "Student Handbook" does not have any rules in reference to current older students not permitted to attend their siblings' Pre-K graduation! Graduation is a family-event and siblings should be allowed to attend the event regardless if he/she is younger or older.
My daughter attends and my nephew attended this school. The comeraderie among students is great. The curriculum is rigorous. Prepare to spend at least a couple hours per night on homework once your child reaches 2nd grade. Test scores are great. My daughter has progressed nicely year to year, transforming from average to above average in most subjects. She has needed extra help in math and is getting that. There's a LOT of community involvement with many community events held at the school on weekends. My children have really blossomed at SHE and love it there. The teachers are very caring and everone seems to know my children - even teachers who have never had them in their class. My nephew moved away two years ago and teachers and administrators still miss him and ask about him. I feel the love they have for children as they all also tell me how special my daughter is. It's just a loving, nurturing environment that also stresses educational excellence. I would highly recommend. I can't yet give the principal the highest rating because he is new to our school this year, but he has presented an ambitious set of goals to target during his tenure.
my daughter attends this school and is doing well. Her scores continue to climb and I appreciate the extra effort and interest that the teaching staff and administration takes in offering students a quality education and safe school environment.
