The new principal and VP have made a big difference. Bayshore is a big school, and it offers a lot-lots of sports and clubs and activities. My daughter's teachers have been enthusiastic, caring, and innovative. They work with a lot of new technology and media and are all very approachable. We are really happy with Bayshore! Middle school is a tough time socially, but they do address bullying and other issues through lots of character assemblies and always keeping the conversation open.

I noticed there were reviews written from a few years ago and decided to write an updated one. From what I understand the previous Principal did not do a very good job. However, she has been gone at least 3 years, and from my son's 3 years here, the new one is wonderful, as is the Vice Principal. They get involved, they listen, and not sure where the attendance of 21 students came from, but there are 600-700, and they know my son's name (No, not from misbehaving). Except for 1 Spanish teacher (the other my son really likes), I have nothing negative to say about the teachers either. He's in 8th grade now, and is loving it. This is a wonderful school.

As a current BMS student, these comments seem to be superfluously harsh. With a new vice-principal as well as a new principal, the school has changed a great deal. With the one year I've had with the former principal and vice-principal, the middle school has a completely new atmosphere. Students are greeted every morning by the enthusiastic vice principal, and teachers are open to all students making it their priority to make sure the student has a better understanding of topics covered in class. From a high honor roll student's perspective, whatever effort you put into your subjects is what you get out. This is how I've managed to become accepted into all offered honors classes and the highschool level world language . As far as bullying, we're jumping in with two feet to solve this issue. It's key to realize that any decisions the student chooses to make when it comes to making new friends is how their reputation will be reflected upon. Also, there's a variety of after school sports, activities, and clubs however, our technology has a range of pros and cons. My happiness with the school is high, but once events like cyber-bullying are put to an end I'll be 100% pleased.
