This rating should really be updated. Neptune provides a good educational base and nice diverse culture. The teacher's are hardworking and invested in the students. As an alumni, college was never a problem. My biggest qualm is that the College prep courses are far too lackadaisical and not academically rigorous because of it. College prep houses smart students who don't like to study & since it teeters between regular & Honors courses they don't have to. A higher standard needs to be put in place there but the Honors & AP classes are great. All in all, a solid school.

My daughter went to this school and I had to pull her out because they love to sweep problems under the carpet. There bullying policy is weak and they do nothing about it. I'm highly disapointed in neptune hs right down to their vice super intendent. You get no where with them. For a school of excellence they sure didn't prove it to me. The only good thing about this school is their JROTC program.

the school has so much to offer but they say they are a school of "no excuses'' I find the school makes an excuse for everything. from teachers not showing up on back to school night to guidence disregarding requests for appts., from students. It's a school that accepts mediocraty fom their administration and staff at the expense of their students.

As a former student of Neptune High School, I'm deeply disappointed by the school's ratings. Neptune High School is a great school with faculty that truly care about their students. I'm currently pursuing a career in education, and have yet to find a school in Northern Jersey that compares. Like all other schools it has it's problems, BUT the administration is making every attempt to change the school into a school of 'excellence.' I believe the main issue with the school isn't the school, it's the mentality of the students. They are more focused on fighting that they forget the purpose for them being there is to get an education. Its all stems from the surrounding neighborhood and today's society. It's quite sad because there are a plethora of opportunities available to them that many fail to utilize.
