Northfield Community is up there with the best in South Jersey. There is a bias towards Linwood public schools in the area, but as far as innovative education is concerned I think Northfield is ahead of the entire area. I know teachers in both districts and my kids have attended both schools. The parents on here complaining seem like they simply do not want to put in any effort with their children and are self-enabling by blaming the schools. It is a great school, you cannot do better in Atlantic or Cape May County.

This school is terrible. They don't teach the kids and everything is a struggle and still nothing gets taken care of in northfield. Moved out of school district kids are far behind in new school. Thank god the new school cares and actually gives them help with out me even having to say anything. Kids are shocked and impressed that their teachers actually teach them in their new school. It's nice to finally be in a school district that works with you and wants the best for your kids and makes it easy.In northfield you will fight for your child to get help all year and they will do nothing.

I had two children pass through this school K-8. I moved to this town for the school system and was very satisfied. If education is important to your family and you put forth the extra effort necessary to get the most out of your child's experience, this school will prepare your child to do well in HS. As to parents here complaining - NCS is a NJ public school and this is the year 2014. Every school has problems. Society has problems and not everyone agrees with NJ educational policies. Bottom line - I see Northfield kids graduating Mainland in the top 10 and going to top colleges every year. What else could you want?

I have lived in South Jersey all my life - in a nearby town. We sold our home & moved to Northfield before our kids were school age - mainly for the school system. I have been extremely happy with the Northfield Community School. The Child Study Team is top-notch. Concerns are handled quickly & everyone genuinely cares about the children. Our child's Kindergarten teacher is absolutely amazing & I am very happy with the curriculum especially the reading program. My child was beginning to read just 2 months into the school year. The only improvement I would like to see is more parental involvement. Even in Kindergarten there are only a few times per year where parents can visit for celebrations/parties. Kindergarten should be a good mix of learning, playing & fun & sometimes I feel like there isnt enough time for "extras" ie: show & tell, play centers (kitchen, blocks) overall we are extremely happy with our decision to move to Northfield
