I attended Paramus High School a few years back and PHS is definitely one of the best high schools to attend. As long as a student keeps an open mind when starting here and has the willingness to learn, he/she will excel. I started as an average student and when teachers saw my willingness to excel they offered extra time outside of the class, after school, to go over materials and subjects I had difficulty with. Not only did I get bumped into Honors and AP courses, I ended up getting a full ride to a private jesuit college. After school activities and volunteering are great and are a great way to meet more students with similar interests. I personally hold PHS in high regard considering it is a public high school that has a lot to offer-it's been consistently outperforming a large majority of the schools in the state.

I am a student at PHS and I can definitely say that you can get a lot of out this school if you work hard and are motivated! PHS really tries to push the boundaries of those who want to excel. However, it does not do much to help the "bottom" of the class, who I think feel stupid compared to their high-achieving peers, which discourages them. Nevertheless, if you take honors and AP classes, you will get a comprehensive academic education. In addition, the music program is fantastic and can help you broaden your variety and knowledge of music, no matter which instrument you learn and how much experience you have. What I love about this school that there is something for everybody and it serves a wide range of interests, with encouraging teachers doing their best to guide students to success. A student can get the most out of their experience here if they are willing to open themselves up to new possibilities.
