Being a current student at this school, I can honestly say my experience is pretty good so far. It isn't hard to make friends, as many of the students are outspoken and incredibly friendly. There are no cliques of goths or geeks, only certain groups of friends and perhaps some of the more "popular" people. Being unpopular doesn't automatically make you an outcast, just another of the normal students. The education is great - while there are regular subjects like in every other school, there is also the option of Algebra Honors, which is slightly more advanced math. The teachers do their jobs quite well in teaching their students, as few of them actually fail a class and I have never met anyone who repeated a grade. There is a lot of school team spirit as well, as the sports and clubs are greatly promoted while there are "teams" - for example, in 6th grade you can be placed in 6A, 6B, 6C, or 6D, which will tell you which main subject teachers you will have. There are several sports, including baseball, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, lacrosse, or track. There are also plenty of clubs, like Panther Press (newspaper), Hands Across the Water (supporting the Community Charity School in the Democratic Republic of Congo and its students through fundraisers and other activities), debate club, gourmet club (cooking), and many more. Finally, there are several electives to choose from as well - choir, orchestra, band, art, and plenty others. The lunches are very decent - they have vegetarian options, several drinks, and serve pizza everyday. It is not overly expensive (regularly $2.60) and decently healthy. The bathrooms can be good, but occasional problems such as backups can occur. Lockers are often quite small unless you're lucky, but average-sized backpacks and a few binders will fit. Lockers can be decorated, but decorations must be removable. The school isn't too large, as well, so it isn't too hard to remember the layout and you receive a map of it on the first day of 6th grade. All in all, the school is pretty amazing in my opinion. Hope this helps!

I will not recommend this school for kids with special needs with mediocre needs. The school principal and the special ed teachers are not trained enough to deal with kids with special needs who have even minor behavior issues. However, it is a great school district for regular ed students who need academic success.

My experience at this school was regrettable. When I first met the principal, he seemed like a good guy, but as the weeks progressed, he became more disrespectful to me. He invaded my personal space and made me feel uncomfortable. Not only that, he also insulted me. He said something like, "You should give up resisting me. You're never gonna win." I felt unsafe and unsupported. Consequently, I didn't want to go to this school anymore. Furthermore, it seemed that everybody else around me was being treated respectfully, but I was bullied. People called me insulting nicknames, even the teachers. Also, my fellow classmates would poke, push, and insult me for no reason, and no one would ever stand up for me. Even when I actually shared what was happening to me with a teacher, nothing improved. There was no adult in my life that would help me. It was the worst school experience that I've ever had. A good school should be a place where students feel safe, but I never felt safe at this school. Therefore, I don't recommend going to this school.

I attended Community Middle School, and all I can say is Wow. The school has an outstanding Sciene Olympiad team that has made it to nationals every year for a very long time. The teachers are nothing but focused, and perseverant. No matter how hard the job is they will make sure their students understand the concept and also that they can apply those same skills on an assessment. The school has lock down. Fire, evacuation, and earthquake drills regularly, to prepare their students for any situation. They always keep a smile on their face and the school deserves nothing but blue ribbons
