The teachers are dedicated & the school has been doing exceptionally well on the remote learning sessions during this Covid-19 crisis

Sad because I graduated proud from this school and have lived in this town since a child. I wish the taxes that are paid would be used primarily for the education, school, and staff at Midland School. The town I love and is quite and safe. Great cops. They need to remember that these children are the ones who will grow to be residents of Rochelle Park, NJ. We need a major upgrade to our town in order for it to succeed and it start at Midland School # 1. When will they be proud about the #1. We will see.

I went to this school and got bullied for 3 years straight. I continuously went to the principle and the guidance counselor and they said they will take care of the issue but never did . Even my parents went to the school and they still didn’t do anything about it. And then one of the girls that bullied me scratched my face and they didn’t believe me even with evidence of the scratch they sided with the girl and believed her. And made me out like I was a liar. This school is poorly run. The education is behind compared to the school I go to now. I am so happy that I am done with this school

Midland School has gone through changes over the past several years. We seemed to be at a standstill for a while when the teachers were working without a contract but, thankfully, that has been resolved. We finally have a principal that, as a former teacher in the school, understands the school and the student's needs. The teachers are very dedicated and do a great job with the resources at hand. We have a very active PTA that provides support to the school and holds activities for the students. The school is the only school in town and has a small-town feel to it. The main part of the building is old but the multipurpose room and media center are newer. The school offers computers, music, art, gym, and library to every grade from pre-k to grade 8. Students can participate in extra-curricular sports, band, chorus, drama or scouting. Midland has a lot to offer. Like any school there are some issues. There are a few teachers that are tenured that should be shown the door. There are some materials that need to be updated. However, that's pretty much the case in any school district. Overall, Midland is a good elementary school that will prepare your child for high school.
