Crestwood Elementary School

This is the worst school my child has ever attended.

My son is finishing up kindergarten at Crestwood. He loves it and comes home from school happy every day. He has learned to read and do basic math very quickly (he only knew the uppercase alphabet and how to count 1-10 when he entered) and he gushes about his teacher as well as the days that he has music, art and PE. I do wish he had more recess - i hear it's only 10 minutes per day (in a long school day of 8:15am -3:45pm). That's definitely not enough for the little ones and must make classroom management tough for the teachers. He's very wound up by the time school gets out, and his physical fitness has declined since starting. That aside, we love Crestwood, including all of the extra events, activities and resources offered, like Arts Night, Dads & Donuts, the school garden, etc.

My child attended Crestwood this year, and I am blown away with the quality and intensity of the education he has received. My child had no interest in reading or learning anything. Now as school has ended he is reading fluently, adding using mental math, and wants to write full detailed sentences. His kindergarten teacher not only motivated him but inspired him to be a learner. Insist on the male kinder teacher, I'm sure they are all great, but it was clear and obvious this teacher meant business. I only hope my son gets another great teacher for the first grade. I'm very happy with this school, the teachers, the new garden, and all the great activities this past school year. 2013-2014

the standards of this school are high the teachers are very involved in each childs individual educational needs. im very glad my child had the oppurtunity to be a student here for the past 3 years. thank you crestwood
