Howard Wasden Elementary School

I have to say that effective leaders make or break any establishment. Principal Tammy Martin definitely MAKES this school!! I am confident that my daughter will receive a great education in a safe, caring, nurturing environment because this principal CARES!!

My son has been going since last month and since then horrible horrible experience. The principal in its self is horrible. Today i receive a call from the school nurse (terrible phone manners and terrible communication skilld) instead of calling saying my cold was ill she not only lies saying he threw up but had diarriah but then lied in my face once i got there sayn he only had diarriah then said because of that he couldn't be there to come get him which was not a problem of course but the fact i get there and my son lets me know right away he had an accident he did not throw up so when i spoke aith the nurse i told her she clearly lied about him throwing up but also lied about him having a fever. The princpal them comes out and interrupts and i told him if my child was ill is fine but to then raise his voice at me as i am explaining the way the nurse lied is unprofessional and the way he was raising his voice as well NOT MY FAULT YOU ALL GOT CAUGHT UP IN A LIE THEY COULDN'T EVEN TELL ME WHAT HIS TEMP WAS. BOTTOM LINE HORRIBLE SCHOOL AND MY SON WILL NOT BE ATTENDING FOR SECOND GRADE HOPEFULLY

My son had a real bad experience, he's a very slow learner it takes him time to understand , BUT he's very good in math!!, .. The support I got was " he's a lazy boy, has nothing to do with being a slow learner, he's just lazy!" .. Giving him from 3-5 pages of homework EVERYDAY!, I try to explain to the teacher by the second page he tells me his head hurts! Most of the year he had no recess time (playing time) it was an everyday thing for not turning ALL the homework daily .. AS A MOTHER I would prefer him not to have recess , instead of having headaches !, and finishing homework at 9pm.

My godchild goes to this school and had for a few years and no one in this school has done anything to help with her possiable learning disabilities! I feel the need to do more for the children and from another state I vow to do something! She should have been tested and not be bullied by a teacher for needing extra help to excel! Why is she not recieving what she needs!
