I am a Senior at Canyon and have been attending this school for two years. We recently received a grant of over 1 million dollars for all new equipment and have also had the whole administration changed around. There are some new teachers, a new principal, and new assistants. There have been a great deal of changes to the rules around the school. The library is no longer open during lunch, 1 class period has been added to the schedule and no bathroom passes are to be passed out and a hall monitor must escort a student if they need to go. The education is great as long as you have the right teachers. There are some that do not teach very well and it is very difficult to succeed in their class. Though, with others, you simply HAVE to study otherwise you WILL fail. There are some GREAT teachers at Canyon and I believe they have a great magnet program (I've only heard from fellow classmates on this). Canyon has low test scores, yes, but that can easily change if the students actually cared. There are some students that do not care about their education and take it for granted. This school is more than a test score.
