Between the so-called 'anti-bullying policies' and various other things subtly placed in the code of conduct, this school eats one up and spits it out, leaving one begging for the high-school's much more preferable atmosphere. This school punishes not only the ones who actually cause trouble (though due to obvious staff bias against anti-socials, many are not even punished and bullying flourishes), but also the studious individuals who simply seek a good education. Not to mention, the selection of clubs is horrid, the food is horrid, and the so-called 'Safety' they instill is simply an over-censoring of what occurs. During Halloween, not only would they remove items resembling weapons, as they clam, but also any other things that would pertain to a costume, and any candy one would possess. When they mean promote a safe and conductive learning atmosphere, they failed to mention that teachers would not only be teaching, in Math, an entirely new course that is just thrust upon you, in English, a lack-luster course with supposed social studies integration, in Science, a collection of lessons that you learn and forget as soon as the year ends, and in Social Studies, a collection of lessons strewn together by some relative sequence with no rhyme or reason to it. After going through 3 whole years of this abominable school I can state solidly that this school is not for the faint of heart, easy of stomach, or weak of will. It takes stubborn verging on idiotic dedication to get through this horrid abyss of a school, but, as many say, freedom comes with a price. The High School is much more liberating than this one, and it is almost a shame to see that this school bears the same name as the former.

As a student I find my review will be more helpful than a parents'. The school is great and contrary to a below comment, is VERY interested in helping children with special needs, I know because a family member of mine has special needs and they made accommodations for her and helped her as much as possible. On top of that our school has excellent honors programs and even has a DOUBLE excelerated system which I am in and can personally say is great. We also have a very well developed music department, new advanced technology, access to many clubs and honor societies such as Tri-M, NJHS, Science Olympiad, etc. don't forget that the teachers are kind and helpful.
