South Orangetown school district has a great reputation.
I have read the 1 star review and am sorry that person had such a bad experience. I have 1 child who went there and another who is there now and the school is fantastic. My oldest saw bullying that was stopped where it started. From lunch workers to the principal a focused no bully policy is in effect. In every profession there are persons who could be doing better and do not speak to people appropriately. I hope the ones 1 star experienced have learned what is right in handling children.
Looking forward to Cottage Lane and love South Orangetown School District as a whole. TZE (grades 3 and 4) was a wonderful school and for parents reading Cottage Lane is the next school (4th and 5th graders).
i would never send anyone to go to this school after my expierience going there from 2004-2006, the teachers here are very mean and don't do there job right, when i came here i was bullied alot, basically every day, the teachers didn't care and didn't do anything about it, my parents were constantly calling this school for them to do something about it but it didnt help at all, also one of my teachers made me stand up the whole time in class because apparently i wasnt paying attention, my parents complained and the teacher got in big trouble for it, when my sister came here in one of the new bathrooms they didnt have any soap containers in the bathrooms which is a big health violation, my sister got really sick a couple days after the first day of school most likely because there was no soap containers to wash her hands and germs were spreading everywhere, my parents called and complained and they didnt care, but then they finally put them in about a month later, terrible school
