Bronxville is a very good school but not as good as it ratings suggest. There is an enormous amount of outside enrichment (tutors, sports leagues, etc) paid for by parents. This is not uncommon in any affluent school district. However, this is not recognized by the administration or the teachers in that they believe the good results reflect their superior abilities which is simply not the case. The school is good for a public school but the parents fill any gaps the school has and there are many.
Outstanding school. Very pleased with the curriculum.
The Bronxville School is outstanding. The administration is focused on constant improvement and innovation in the curriculum, with important enhancements occurring recently not only in the curriculum of the middle school and high school, but also in the facilities. Class sizes are generally small, and the community is tight-knit - with parents dedicated to working closely with teachers and administrators and taking an active interest in all things related to the school. Philanthropic support is very strong. The sports and arts programs are broad, with music, drama, and athletics getting substantial attention. The school is focusing on excellence in writing, math and science. Students generally are accepted to and attend the most selective colleges in the U.S.
The Broxville school is fantastic! Very academic and lots of sports. The kids are very focused and in general nice to each other. Unless your child is very different, like super artsy or very socially awkward, it's a great choice. My three kids love it and they are all different. You do need to "fit in". So, check it out, one visit will quickly show you what the school is about. Bronxville is NOT a diverse community. Most are financially comfortable, well educated, main stream type folks. If you are some funky free-spirit, it's not the place for you or your child. More WASPY and preppy than anything else. Very Ivy focused.
