As a student that goes there we have teachers that are trying their best to teach us. Also because we have a math test tommrow it will also help us see if we are going to the 8 grade. Also it is part of our grade and it is by the sate so this is why I.s.218 is a good school.

The building holds 3 different schools I.S. 218 is the public middle school. On the third floor, the public middle school (I.S. 218) shares half the floor with Invictus, which is a charter school. The 4th floor is a high school, school for classics. While the 3rd and 4th floors are relatively quiet, the 1st and 2nd floors are quite noisy and even disorderly at times. Kids run through the halls, stairwells, cut classes, curse at the teachers, and show a general disregard for authority. Thankfully, fights don't occur that often, and school security seems to be on point most of the time, but suspensions are rarely handed down, even if a student is totally out of line. It appears that the principal is trying to the best of her ability to maintain control of the school, with what little resources she has at her disposal. This school does need help, both in the administrative and disciplinary capacities. There are some good things about the school, the teachers are mainly veterans, and they do care about educating the children. The school has several guidance counselors, as well as a visiting psychologist, to help the children with emotional/academic issues. This school is just average.

this is one of the schools that should be shut down, the bullying that goes on there is out of control and no one seems to give a damn not the teachers, consulars, deans and good luck trying to speak to the principle about contacting the bullys parents because as I was told you need to make an appointment and then if she gives the ok they are allowed to call the parents otherwise your child is on there own.on numerous occasions my son has came home with bruises from being beaten by bullys,I have spoken to my sons teachers, guidance consular, dean and the assistant principle and to this day absolutely nothing has been done. This is a school were the bully's get rewarded for there behavior.it is a disgrace.
