My daughter who joined the school as a Kindergarten and is now a first grader has had an excellent experience! One of the big three factors when choosing to move out of Brooklyn was settling in a district with a great school school system. While Croton did not reach 10's across the board, we did our research and discovered the numbers by themselves can be misleading, and boy are we glad we did the research. It is a smaller school district that allows for as much or as little parent involvement as one would like. Any time I have felt the need to ask a question or express a concern, especially as a new parent to an elementary school child I was treated with respect, a rapid response and overall felt heard. One of the the more suprising encounters we have had is with our high school age babysitters. The teenagers we have met are bright, respectful and speak of tolerance and acceptance across the high school community which is encouraging for the future of our children. Lastly, I can say during the unprecedented Covid times we are currently dealing with, the school has done a good job communicating with parents and doing everything within their power to keep the children and teachers in school safely and with as little interruption as possible. We are thrilled to be apart of this community.

We moved to Croton because of its reputation for having a good school. But by October, we were already looking to move him to a private school because of a number of issues -- none of which seemed to improve, despite regular visits to school administrators. Once you buy a house in Croton, you buy into the schools, so it better be a good fit for your child. If it's not, you're basically SOL and have to go to a private school or move out of the town, which is what we ended up doing, since it was pretty clear it was never going to work under the current administration.

My son is very happy at CET. His teachers have been excellent and caring. The culture there promotes kindness and empathy. Its small size and widely range of resources ensure that each child’s needs are met

Top notch teachers and staff that really care about each student. The addition of a language (Spanish) program K-4 is great! This school prepares the whole child for middle school.
