Glen Cove High School is like many other schools -- you get out of it what you put into it. One of the beautiful aspects of this school, its diversity, is also often times used as a negative by some people. Well, the real world is diverse with different people of different races and different religions, and I'll tell you that Glen Cove High School not only introduces you to that, but prepares you for it.My graduating class sent students to Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, NYU, Boston College and more. Sure, many students decide to go to SUNY schools, and there's nothing wrong with that either. The teachers are real people who care, not just about what grades you get and what college you end up at, but about the real, oftentimes difficult parts of their students lives as well. That's so refreshing and reassurring, and something you can't positively measure. If you can't tell, I'm a graduate of the Glen Cove Schools, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I have 2 children who graduated and have become very successful young adults. They took advantage of everything that was available, law club, DECA, ski club, jazz band, chorus, golf and soccer. They had everything they needed to compete on a national level and graduated Princeton and George Washington Univ. with honors. The opportunity to succeed is there for the taking it's a hidden secret. Colleges will only accept 1 tops 2 students from each district.

Absolutely Terrible. If you have the choice do not send your child here. He will become a failure in life.

My experience at Glen Cove High School couldn't have been better. After graduating from GCHS, I went on to Princeton University, and felt more prepared for rigorous courses than many of my peers from private and boarding schools. Glen Cove benefits from a small student to teacher ratio (12:1) and a small school overall (995 students) so students, whether they are at the top, middle, or bottom of the class, will never get lost. The ability to get involved and take on leadership positions is incomparable, as its extra-curricular list is extraordinary and teachers are really passionate about students excelling outside the classroom. I'm currently a private college admissions counselor and know exactly what colleges are looking for, and Glen Cove is an ideal school for students looking to go on to top colleges because its small size gives multiple students the ability to shine and stand out in their own unique ways.
