This school drops all the great work of the elementary and middle schools. The principal and Superintendant only show up for photo ops. My largest complaint is with the counseling department. They continually make mistakes on kids' schedules but aren't available when needed. They don't take advantage of the great college offerings for high school students in the area. They don't push or support the students to challenge themselves. My daughter's senior year her counselor that had been with her for four years didn't know her name, that she was in AP classes or what she was looking for in college!

Its unfortunate that my child has to come home on a near daily basis telling me about how "below-average" his school is compared to others. He says its mainly because of the administrative leadership, and that there is only one administrator who seems to truly care about their job. I would love to see more feedback from teachers, more prinicipal involvement, and more activities that are school sponsored for my child to participate in. It's a shame that they've cut back on a lot of these activities, such as senior breakfast. While I wouldn't recommend this school to a friend or family member looking to move to the area, I would tell them that it has a lot of potential to grow, and I hope to see that in the future.

I am Masters degree educated resident of this district. Two of my kids completed their entire education in this district. Aside from the fact that the district has excellent teachers and curriculum, it also offers transcripted college courses (in addition to AP and dual enrollment) through the Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester at no charge to students. Many RH students graduate with well over a semester of transcripted college work. The district also offers excellent foreign language programs in German, Spanish, and French and has an ASL option. Long story short - this school and the district are underrated here. You will also find that other rating systems do not agree with your assessment.
