Arlington is a great school offering many courses that are not available at other schools. Arlington offers many AP and honors classes as well as classes that are outside of the "norm" you would see at other high schools in the area. Some of these courses include, Contemporary Issues in Biomedical Sciences, Philosophy, Criminal and Civil Law, Forensics, Psychology, Science Research, etc. After Arlington I went to a private college with many high achieving students from "high achieving" high schools. None of them took classes that even came close to the ones I was offered. My professors were also impressed at the long list of classes. As far as teachers go, many of them are amazing and willing to do anything to help their students. Many of the teachers are very involved within the Arlington Community and have degrees from some of the best schools in the country (Ivy League, Seven Sisters, etc.). I left Arlington truly prepared for college. And Arlington sports are some of the best in the area. There are many teams to choose from and many of them win the league and some are even state champions. I also believe that we are the only school in section 1 that has two turf fields for athletic teams to use. I did not have much experience with the music program at Arlington but I have been told that it is very strong and nationally recognized. Same for the marching band. They are usually state champions. Even though Arlington is a big school, there really is a place for everyone to fit in.
It was okay. But that’s only because I was on the basketball team and kinda popular. But for most I doubt it was a very comfortable environment
Going to this school made my life a living hell.
spend too much money on school bus purchasing; qualtiy of education is not as good as that of 10 years ago. John Jay HS has better academic programs especially AP math, stat and other science subjects.
