Somers Senior High School

Terrible. I'm a senior but have left for online school. It's that bad. I couldn't make it through senior year. If you're not super competitive or wealthy, you can't really fit in or find friends. Teachers are distant and not supportive. Terrible in terms of mental health support. I never knew who to go to. Guidance counselors acted purely as academic counselors, did not feel comfortable to go to them. Apparently there was other "help" but I was never introduced to who/where they were located.

As a parent it’s important to look beyond test scores. I believe SHS has high expectations, provides an environment where students feel supported and incorporates a culture of inclusion. All my interactions with staff have been positive. My child struggles in one subject area and they have provided the support she needs.

Somers in General is the Best place to live in Westchester. Great people, family values and beautiful environment. The Schools are all beautiful, on amazing campus'. The Teaches are a bit spoiled. The administrators are in a bubble. My two son's did well...
