Monticello High School

All over the place.. This school is quite the experience. From students to staff/teachers to learning and just the overall of being a student in the Monticello school district. Not all the teachers honor their job, the staff as well. They can be quite rude, some on the other hand have no clue on what being a teacher means and don't have the skills to be one. Also the bullying at this school is astronomical. They play favorites too. It's sad and I feel that is school is very toxic for the mindset of adolescents. That just may be Monticello though and growing up kids as a whole. They focus on behavior more than they do education it seems too. It just makes the behavior worse when they try so hard to bust a student for doing wrong instead of appreciating the rights we're doing. They have lots of security roaming the hallway and some go after a few select students than the others they don't consider as "bad". The education is decent for a low poverty school. Could be tremendously better still.

Low scores yet high graduation? Diploma mill.Teachers try but are not supported by administration if they ask for excellence or try to keep old standards. Student discipline is often frightening.I would suggest that the high ratings come from the many fine students and not from the students that the district passes on to colleges, for 3 months and out experience.

Monticello is great for student athlete and musicians. Being part of both communities in the school myself, I know first hand how nice supportive and understanding they are. We have an award winning music program and this year our some of our winter athletes made sectionals! It is great to be a part of such a hardworking and diverse community. It is definitely worth it!

I personally think the Monticello High School is a safe and wonderful environment for students to learn. The teachers are dedicated to helping their students have a great education. This school provides many opportunities for students to succeed. I enjoy going to this school however there are discipline issues and out of control bullying. The teachers say that the school does not tolerate bullying if any kind yet they do not help the victims having the problem. There is also too much violence. However, it is still pretty safe and there is an excellent security.
