Tappan Zee High School

My two sons graduated from TZHS. They are in their mid twenties now, finished college and have great jobs. This school really prepared my kids for the real world. They had some very good teachers who I believed really cared about them and pushed them to do better and always reached out to me with any issues or concerns. I have nothing negative to say about TZHS.

As a recent Tappan Zee alumni, I can say that this school has great academics, social life, safety, and sports. This school has a friendly teacher-student relationship. The students are pretty social with each other, preventing cliche`s similar to your classic high school movies. Certain sports are more involved than others, but students attend a majority of the meets for friends or great athletes. Tappan Zee High School offers an internship program for seniors, which requires up to 80+ of interning any job of their choice. This is a unique feature of this school and many college deans are very impressed with this. That class and the AP courses make this high school a fantastic choice for college-prep. Overall, between the staff and students, this is a great choice for anyone looking for a solid public school.

Our daughter graduated this year with her choice of attending four Ivy League schools. She also became fluent in Italian and and has a working knowledge of Chinese because of the wonderful language programs available. The advanced programs are mostly college level courses and solidly prepared her for college.

I'm currently attending this school and for some reason high school is very relaxing actually, even though theres work going to this school for me just feels relaxing and not overstressing, the teachers here are good but some of the students that come here arent so good but i stay away from those people, although i do have to say that in the winter the heating system in this school works ok but not great some classrooms can be kinda cold and when its hot out this school gets really hot so i wish they had air conditioning but besides that it's a pretty good school
