The Middle school is outstanding. The leadership provided by Tim Farley is amazing. He knows the kids and the families. The teachers and all the staff are child-centered and truly love their jobs. So glad we moved here.

This school as improved over the years to be a Top Public School in the Columbia County Area. I am always impressed by the involvement that the teachers take to insure their students are keeping up and moving forward. I have moved here from a very academic area of New Jersey - this school compars to their best.

We love this community, and wish we did not have a middle schooler who attended. Some excellent teachers exist, but they are outnumbered by too many teachers who have inappropriate expectations of 12-14 yr olds. Parents are not treated with respect, retalliation for speaking to teachers exists. Academic excellence isn't rewarded; homework, classwork, & keeping these graded assignments in a binder is more than 60% of the grade here. Conformity not creativity. Disproportionate pressure placed on preteens to shape their future by their actions, an admirable but psychologically unsound approach: developmentally, leads to apathy and despair. College and future earning potential often discussed in context of grades, transferring the responsibility from the adminustration (where it belongs) to children who are just learning self control. Truly the only reason we'll move, otherwise a decent place to raise a family and good HS IF you have a child taught properly thru grade 7-8.
