I is/was a student at Tredyffrin-Easttown Middle School. As I had moved to the district in my 6th grade year, I was forced to play the role of the "new kid" and I would like to argue that the school is by no means xenophobic. My first period teacher basically instantly set me up with some people who later became friends, someone who I'd never seen before in my life was conversing with me in 5 minutes, and the class troublemaker took me around the school to show me the locations of my classes. There was only ever once child that I didn't like and to be honest not many ever did. The teachers are a mix between informative, funny, inspiring, and nice. What looked to be a boring/monotonous math (4 levels above) class ended up being one of my favorites just because of the teacher. The community is very nice and also smart. The school constantly places first or second in academics and athletics alike, and despite that, not many of the kids actually brag. Personally, I knew a guy who scored better than 98% of high schoolers while in 7th grade, but his personality is likeable and I'd never heard him brag. TL;DR great school in almost every way.

TE middle is glamorous and you are jealous of the tremendous athletes and scholars we have. The teacher are nice and imformative. If we are xenophobic we can't just take students of the street jut for this report. The student don't bully and are very knoledgable

It's great school with good teachers but....Let me say in one word about the demographics: xenophobic. The teachers and students are unfamiliar with other cultures and despite the pretense of tolerance to "others", their ignorance and xenophobia comes through in many ways. They ought to do some soul searching - I mean the administrators and teachers.

I am a parent and my child is in the 7th grade. I absolutely love the curriculum and the focus on academics. The students are treated like leaders and the teaching staff is stellar. The extra curricular activities are abundant as well as the transportation service. Unfortunately, I believe the school needs cultural awareness. My child is a minority and he comes home complaining often about him getting picked on because he is different. Because the Devon/Berwyn area has a lack of diversity the students are ignorant when it comes to other races. Hopefully in the future this will be the focus of the school. I want my child to continue on to the High School because of the great programs, but if he continues to complain I will send him to a more diverse school.
