We are very happy with the education our daughter has been receiving here. She learned to read and write in kindergarten, and now this is her 4th year here. Her teachers have been great, and we enjoy the principal. There is a lot of parent involvement, too. We like that starting in first grade the children are tested before each unit in Math, and then placed with the teacher that is teaching them at their skill level, so they aren't all at various levels with one teacher. They do this for reading, too.
Our family was highly disapointed in the direction this school took after Mr. Mateer retired. Enough to move and go to another Hempfield Elem school.
My daughter attends school here and is in the 4th grade and is receiving a wonderful education. We are very happy with the new principal, she's a great addition to our facility.
