I am a PR grad and still have younger siblings at PR. I was not popular and by no means is my family rich. My friends were the weird ones, the misfits, and the poor kids. Pine-Richland provided a positive atmosphere for all of us. There are many clubs and activities for many different interests and teachers who really care. As a PR graduate, I was better prepared for college than many of my peers. My writing and speaking skills were greatly helped by the fantastic English department. While math and science were not my strongest subjects, the fantastic teachers kept me interested and helped me learn. The more I talk to others from the western PA area about their school experiences, the happier I am to have attended Pine-Richland.

The school goes through a new superintendent every 3 years. The Math and language teachers are awful. Bullying gets very overlooked, even though they tout how seriously they take it and that there is a no tolerance policy not true. Popular kids run this school. If your child isn't popular, they won't make it. There are also a lot of "cutters". The teachers are currently on strike .graduation rate has declined .I wouldn't send my kids there.

I am a graduate from Pine-Richland. This school cares nothing for the needs of the students, only about making money and looking good statistically. They do have a bullying problem and suicide rates are high. In my 4 years of high school there, we had 3 suicides and even more attempts. They recently set up an anti-bullying program but it is run very poorly and many of the teachers are actually causes of bullying rather than students. There is little tolerance for diversity among the students. The school only cares for athletics, leaving other departments with little financial support.

This school has little concept of how to guide appropriate behavior. There is a very high rate of bullying that happens at the school and the administration does not seem alarmed at all by the fast that in many areas the rate is higher than the NATIONAL average. They go to great lengths to deny and cover up the incidents when they happen. It used to be a good district full of very caring teachers until the current superintendent came on board. The previous superintendent built a district which parents and students were proud. The current superintendent has run it into the ground. All of the principals that connected to the community and built strong relationships with the parents and students have now left. The current principal of the high school is a very tough guy that the kids cannot relate to or connect with and therefore they do not go to him with issues or concerns. Those that do are shut down. He does not show any compassion or concern when he speaks with the students. The test scores at this school are just ok. Look closely at the math and science scores when looking at this school. There are some great caring teachers and those who just go through the motions.
