I am a former student of Karns City and I had a great time while I was there. The teachers did not judge students on their athletic ability but on their character and willingness to work hard. The assistant principal was not biased towards football players. I had the opportunity to play football for him from my Sophomore through my Senior year and I saw many of my teammates coming out to practice late because he had given them detention. The teachers at KC do a great job preparing the students for College. I do not attend a state university, but a private institution, and I felt very prepared. The teachers were very personal with the students which was great. If you showed them respect, you got it back. But if you didn't do what you were supposed to and didn't respect the teachers they took proper action. I had a great time at Karns City and would love my kids to go there. -Giff '09

my children all went to KCHS. My boys where not athletic and they where not star students. .I've asked for tutoring and was turned down. I was told there where others who needed it more. What the heck . They (teachers and especially principles) judge kids on there appearance, instead of accepting them for who they are. Kids in high school are just trying to find themselves, find where they fit in. If your not athletic this can be very hard. I don't think the assistant principle should also be the football coach. He is not fair to the students who aren't athletic. I feel my boys where constantly bullied not by kids though, but by faculty. Now my daughter who is a star student has had no problem at all with KCHS. So I guess it like this. If your child struggles in school don't go to KCHS.
