Charles F Patton Middle School

UCFSD was the number one reason we moved to the Kennett Square area. Our time at Unionville Elementary was well worth it with a strong, supportive teacher and admin staff. Unfortunately, once our oldest went to Patton everything changed. The teacher and admin staff were far from supportive and our child’s grades drastically fell. The communication with school was terrible and not supportive in fact demoralizing. Patton Middle School is ranked lower than all the schools in the district for a reason. Proceed with caution. Our family’s decision was to move out of the district because we feel that strongly about sending any of our kids to that middle school.

While I was at Patton from 2016-2019, many teachers that I had were clueless about what they were teaching me. I remember my 7th-grade english teacher just handing us a giant packet and saying to fill it out. Then she will have the quiz next week without teaching us anything. Other teachers are super good. I remember my 7th-grade math teacher used a bunch of teaching strategies that really helped us learn. Also, my 8th-grade geography teacher also had a good teaching strategy. His class is one of the only classes that I won't think about taking a nap in.

Students and staff are amazing! Great vibe in and out in the community.

My family moved here because of the quality of the schools. Strongly considering moving out of the area and sending my child to private school.
