I feel very sorry for the kids who try really hard to do well in this school. Mine has come up with different stategies on staying focused in some of her classes while the teacher attempts to control the kids who consistently disrupt the class. It's unfair for the good kids to suffer. I don't understand why the school puts up with it. Meanwhile, my son got in house detention because I forgot to send an excuse to school. Yet he comes home asking what certain profane words mean because the kids are allowed to say them in the hall with no repercussion. I guess they don't think profanity, disrespecting teachers and other students warrants a detention. I'm looking into other options for next year. If Manheim Township doesn't do something about these issues all they will be left with is the kids they've allowed to get away with making the good kids miserable.

MTMS needs to find a solution to the behavior issues of certain groups of kids currently enrolled here. They do not respect their teachers or fellow students, are disruptive, rude and need to be disciplined for their actions. MTMS seems to be ignoring these issues within the hallways and buses. I am guessing they don't want their shiny reputation to suffer, but seem to be content with the good students suffering instead . My family now feels that we need to relocate and I will be pulling my 8th grader out soon to send to a better school district and I absolutely refuse to send my youngest through MTSD at all. I'd also like to mention that I was a life-time resident of Manheim Township and graduated from there. MTSD was once a great school - but now... I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. Wishing you all the best of luck... you will need it.
