We moved to Peters over ten years ago and have found the schools to be outstanding. The teachers and the support staff at the schools have been great. The other reviews on this site are very negative and seem to be sour grapes. I'm not sure why but we have had nothing but positive experiences with the schools in Peters.

Awful! DO NOT even consider this township for your children. They used to be good but poor administration has made it a terrible choice.

Elementary schools through 3rd grade are excellent. There is only big school for 4th-6th grade- it is too large and it's a 50/50 toss up whether or not your child will get a good teacher. The middle school is generally strong, but the gifted program has been completely dismantled - the previous administration stripped extracurricular funding to increase teacher salaries above those in the surrounding area schools. Teaching quality in math at the middle school is lower than it should be, and affects your students' algebra 2 performance in high school. Teacher strikes due to an attitude of entitlement have hurt the district this year, and strikes are expected to continue, as are property tax increases to pay for above average salaries & benefits, while performance in 63rd in the state. Choose Upper St Clair, Mt Lebanon or South Fayette for more stability, higher quality of instruction, and better recognition from college admissions.

I have lived in Peters Township my entire life until recently, and it has been miserable from the beginning. The people in the community are some of the most superficial people I've ever met and only care about wealth and status (a common trait amongst a majority of the student population as well). My family moved specifically to get away from the arrogant, close-minded people. Along with this snobbish township, the academics are greatly lacking. The teachers barely have to teach due to the fact that most of the classes are online. I would advise parents and students to steer clear from this "bubble" of a community. Cheers!
