I am a senior studedent currently enrolled in the Oley Valley and while this school was amazing the past few years really brought the school down. In the past 4 years they have cut 6 teachers due to the budget. A lot of the classes are being cut to. For example realities of life class which when I started was required will no longer be available next year. Sometimes I feel like the school spent way to much on the laptops they bought students to use during school. While this may help some kids its a huge distraction and dosent teach you anything it just tell a you. How is that learning? The school cares way to much about test scores and state scores now. I wish the school would go back to caring for its students again like it did.

I recently moved my family to Oley and have enrolled my girls in the districts high school. The staff were all very helpful and showed a sincere interest in the well being of my children. The staff and counselors were very patient and understanding with my millions of questions. My girls have been well treated and simply love the school and I'm confident that they will receive an excellent education.

At this school there are far too many rednecks who think they rule the school. Also, there is little diversity. I would say 98% Caucasian. The teachers are not very outstanding except for a select few. The school itself is small and a tad boring, but the majority of the student body knows each and every student of the school. Field Hockey and Baseball are the schools most standout sports, and Basketball just behind in popularity. Oley has a bad reputation compared to most of the schools surrounding it. This school seems to be pretty well rounded academically, but the teachers seem to pick favorites as in every other school, so if your child is not a teachers pet then they will actually have to study and not ease his or her way through.

Poor modeling of intelligence and little critical thinking. Low respect for individualism and even less for diversity.
