This school has not changed much in appearance since I attended in the 90's. My child went here from Kindergarten through 3rd grade. I had no issues with any of the teachers and it felt good that they were genuinely concerned and devoted to their jobs. With such a large student body it does take work on the parents side to make sure you're taking advantage of every opportunity being offered. Teachers can easily get overwhelmed and forced to focus more attention on students who are routinely disruptive to the learning process, which unfortunately happens to be a lot of the students. The school does a great job with encouraging parent involvement during back to school night. If you are vocal with teachers about what your child is learning and develop a good rapport with them, your child's success at John B. Kelly can be achieved.

John b. Kelly is the worst school. My daughter is in the kindergarten the teacher she have no control of her class. The student pay her know mind, they run around the class and also the students do not know how to keep their hand to themselves. I never seen so many students sso disrespectful. I would not tell anybody to send their child to john b. Kelly.

Nothing great about this school except a handful of great teachers. All of my children have attended this school because honestly of a lack of options. I tried to have my kids transferred and was denied. It really went downhill when the Principle who was there for many years retired. The majority of the children in the school are unruly, vulgar and violent and because it is on such a large scale it is difficult for the teachers to get a handle on it. Many parents are as bad as the students and discipline is seriously lacking from the school staff. So much of the day is wasted on dealing with conflict it is no wonder test scores are low. The one shining thing that saves this school is the fact that there are teachers there that genuinely care about the kids and put their all into teaching them particularly the kindergarten staff. My kids still have a relationship with there kindergarten teacher years after they were in that grade. Bottom line, if you are not a parent that can devote a lot of time into your child's education, continuously building on what they learn in class this school is a bad choice for your children.
