Great teachers, great atmosphere, great place for your kids!

My son has attended Concord since kindergarten (he is now in 3rd grade). I can honestly say that I've loved every teacher that he has had there. They have all been very nice, personable, and have all been very good to my son. While some of the work that my son has brought home seems a little below his learning level (he is very advanced, to be fair)...I do believe that this is one of the better Pittsburgh Public elementary schools. I read some of the previous reviews and was shocked that there were so many negative ones....however, note that those negative reviews are from YEARS ago. The female principal (whoever she was, lol) that was talked about in those reviews is long gone. Mr. Perella, the current principal, is awesome and very hands-on. You can tell he really cares about making sure this school is being ran to the best of it's ability. Another thing I love is that the school population is very diverse. Not just black and white...but Asian, Spanish, and many Nepalese children go to Concord as well. It's a great mix of cultures. The school even hosts a yearly "Culture Night" where the children learn about many different countries and create displays including posters, foods, and games representing each one. YES to this!! PLEEEEASE teach our children more cultural diversity and understanding, America! Lord knows we would not have many of the petty problems that exist in this country if everyone was taught acceptance, love, and understanding of ALL people from an early age.All in all, If I could afford it right now, I would definitely send my son to a private school (we all would, right?). However, Concord has been great thus far and I really have nothing but good things to say about it. :)

Concord is an amazing school. Since getting a new principal last year the overall atmosphere has been positive. I love my kids teachers and always feel welcome at the school.

I agree with the last review this school has gradually gone down hill since Mrs. Berry left. The principal does not care about the kids as she says and never responds to parent complaints. The only time you hear from this principal is when you have to tell your kids to defend themselves. My child will no longer be attending this school even if I have to find a way to pay for schooling myself.
